ASL 2.1 Understands writing techniques used to influence the reader and accomplish an author's purpose.
Mr Shulha, Is the phrase "writing techniques" referring to the fact that Lysistrata is a play and a comedy or that the author makes historical references and allusions in the play?
Good question. Writing techniques refers to the general way in which the author uses language to communicate his or her ideas. A writing technique may be a metaphor, a hyperbolic statement, the use and variety of sentence structure, to name a few. There are numerous writing techniques. It can also be how the the author exploits the convention/style in which he or she is writing in ... in our case a play.
